1.inhume or exhume
one is to bury, one to er, unbury, but 'hume', if it existed, suggests a kind of limbo, neither in the ground, or out of it, perhaps floating just above the surface while the family decides where to put the body
2. you can burn a building down, and you can burn it up--in english, you can be 'burnt up" but not down, you can be burnt out but not burnt in, land can be burnt over, but rarely burnt under and if you're terribly careless, land can be burnt away.
3. redolent smells bad (or at least strongly), indolent suggests that you're too lazy to move out of range of it...
4. imperial implies royalty, elegance, or command of a situation, while imperious means you're probably overdoing the imperialityness of everything.
