July 6 1968 Anniversary

He (almost) always remembers the card, I only remember when I SEE the card, propped up on the table, or in front of my computer.  I did catch him out one year, when we both forgot, and I remembered first,  about a week later.

 I can't believe it's been 49 years.

We don't do a fancy dinner, we don't do flowers or gifts, it's a marker day,  the way birthdays are, but we rarely make a big do about it.  It just is.

    1. it can be, and thanks. And when you think about it (congratulations to you as well), these days it's a wonder the miracle ever happens at all.

    1. oh yes. No horn tooting, no confetti. Maybe a gentle smug smile. We are Yankees after all, it wouldnt do to get too excited, now...

  3. You actually got a card!!! wow. When she got out of bed on Jan 7th. I said happy 50th anniversary dear, she looked at me and mumbled happy anniversary. That was all we needed. Some need more. We had made up our mind several years ago that we didn't want our picture in the paper, and no big party. Each to his own.

    1. well the fireworks here have to wait one more year, and I expect another card then, too.
I must admit when I went shopping today I found a nice card for him, as a surprise for later.

But I agree, it's a number, and a nice one to reach, and it does sorta round your life out a bit--and for those who want the dance and the dinner, more power to 'em.
