oh I love AccuWeather

This just in:  AccuWeather is predicting a 7% chance of rain (at least only on Spring Street) which will last exactly 160 minutes, from 8:40 am to 10:40 AM  with a minute by minute breakdown of what's happening when...if I lived on Spring Street, I would be getting out the umbrella, the rain coat, and boots.

And  if there is only a 7% chance of rain,  how can they predict the times it might happen, if it does happen?

  1. And who do we speak sternly to if it doesn't happen?

  2. You know, judging from the tone of the AccuWeather people, Id say they need a good talking to...I dont think there ARE higher powers than the weather gods =)

  3. You're being just a little bit sarcastic, aren't you?

  4. only a very little bit, but not inaccurate. It did apparently rain on Spring Street this morning, (we werent there, but Im sure it did). It rained on our house at 10:48. =)

I just think they are too much above themselves with moment by moment forecasts. This is New England after all, and sometimes even the weather doesn't seem to know what its doing until it does it. Or even while it's doing it.

  6. Inaccurate! I talked to my friend on Spring Street and he said no rain all day...so far.

  7. I would say switch to weather.com but they are pretty much the same... I hope the weather turned out how you wanted it too! :)

  8. The mister is a firm believer in five day forecasts, I am more of the wait and see school...
He listens to NOAA, accuweather, etc etc.
I go outside, look at the sky, the temp, inhale. come inside and say, "Rain later, roll up the car windows". =)

Actually July 9th is the weather I want...

  9. It's gonna rain. It has rained here for days, about 5 inches of the stuff. It has moved your way now. Find a good book to read.
