Today we had company and lived (6WS)

They brought the dog, they brought the baby (who is now walking),  we had lunch,  we went for a walk,  we discussed deep throaty matters, and they went home.
I"m exhausted.   Either we have to do this more often, or never again.  =)

Tomorrow, it will have been fun. Right now it's just over.

  1. This is so true! one of my favorite times is when it's done, and I can say we had company over...even if I like them a lot. But I can't see doing it all the time as a cure!

  4. I would much rather visit someone else's house than have them at mine.

  5. There is a short limbo time of exhaustion, but then there is the lingering time when you are so glad that you made the effort.

  6. Actually I enjoy company, but it's the 'my god the house is a mess" thing that exhausts me. This is a big house and most of it needs constant tending, which it rarely gets. Often I just shut strategic doors and leave it at that.

But it was fun.. They are young, and funny, and easy to be around. We sat on the porch and watched the baby pour water all over himself, and his mom laughed, and I did, and so did the baby.

And, yeah, mlissabeth, being company is easier than having it, at times, for sure. Then again, they have a long drive home while I get to sit on the porch and Not Move.
