Just in time for Christmas


  1. are those cedars in the background? I have big cedars all around my cabin, kinda nice when everything else is a winter gray.

  2. nope, those are white pine, for the most part, and some red pine and spruce. There is cedar in New Hampshire but it's not common anymore. Nor is chestnut, hickory, or elm.

    It is nice to look out and see green this time of year, I agree. There are several aloe plants in the garden, that stay green all winter. Come spring they rear up, turn brown, and die, and new shoots come up from that. It's bizarre to see that large green plant out there covered with snow...
